My common test results are okay. I got no Cs or Ds. Hopefully, I will be able to do even better for EOYs. Bleh, there's only three more weeks. At least PBL is finally over. Good luck to those who are joining IP and need to do PBL regularly XDDD
I think I fell asleep during English today. Somehow, I vaguely remember Suet Yi strangling me. I sort of blacked out after that. And no, I didn't faint. I don't think so. Anyway, she told me she was trying to keep me awake. =D
I brought Yimin's birthday present today but she is only coming back on Thursday. I don't like holding on to presents for so long D:

And there's also the section run tomorrow and choir run the day after. How great of Juniper to decide that we should run on both days. Oh well. Maybe I can lose weight by running four times a week? I can see how slim the possibility of me actually being thin is...

So far, my common tests results are okay. The worst has yet to come : Mathematics.
I was happy with Geography since I did study hard for it although the subject just makes me drowsy. And I got what I expected. Physics was good but I made a few careless mistakes which are worth me knocking my head over. But it was the first time I got full marks for MCQs.
Chinese wasn't too bad but it wasn't my standard - meaning I have to buck up. OH, and I passed D & T!!! I thought it was a goner for me since I didn't even understand the last question.

On Monday, it happened for the fourth time in three months again. It's becoming a monthly affair, I can see. I rode all the way to Pasir Ris. This time, it was different. Yes, I did wake up at Tampines, but I thought it was Bedok. Reason being that I got a seat at Kembangan and since I was so tired, I just fell asleep. Within what seemed like milliseconds, I sensed that the train stopped at another station. Blur ol' me opened my eyes and just assumed that it was Bedok. Till I was in the next station and I got a big shock when I heard 'Pasir Ris...' Bleh. I wasted about seven minutes in going home then.
I went to see the doctor yesterday. I saw my childcare centre teacher there. Well, I don't remember her but my mum did. The name didn't ring a bell but her face was kind of familiar. I remember being very antisocial in childcare. In one day, it was possible not to hear a single word escaping my mouth till I went home. That's why my mum used to tease me that I had gold nuggets in my mouth, therefore I couldn't bear to talk. The teachers also discussed this problem of mine during parent-meet-teachers sessions. Well, it was because I didn't see the need to speak and sure, I was lonely, but I just didn't know how to make friends - let alone keep friends.
Anyway, my mum talked to the teacher for a few moments before it was my turn to go for my consultation. Doctor John offered to give me a MC and asked if I wanted to skip school. It was quite a tempting offer since it means I don't have to wake up early. But I didn't want to miss out on collecting back the common test papers.
My flu isn't that bad too. It's just that today, when I sneezed a few times, there were a few drops of blood. Oh well.
BTW, on my way home from the clinic, there was this really cute girl who kept staring at me. Then before she alighted the bus with her parents, she waved at me and even gave a good-bye kiss. She was really cute!
I have no idea how I'm going to sing tomorrow since my throat feels like it has been rubbed sore with sandpaper. Help.

Friday's D&T test was tough. I finally know how great Mr Ho was in making our papers easy. I can see that Mr Chu intends to kill us all with his questions on isometric drawings and orthographic projections. Jessie predicted wrongly about the designing question. She guessed that we would be asked to designed something easy like a flowerpot. No one expected that we would need to come up with three items as souvenirs for the Youth Olympics in 2010. Anyway, I stressed a lot on Singapore's climatic conditions in my anecdotes for my designs. After all, many tourists complained about the heat and the humidity in our sunny little island. With only two minutes left, my last design was a plush toy. No one can resist a cute, hug-able soft toy.

Chinese oral was kind of a disaster. I was supposed to be the first for my group but thank goodness Sarah needed to go for her tuition hence she went before me. Yimin and I went on the same turn. After three minutes, we were told to stop but Yimin kept trying to peek underneath. She didn't finish reading I guess. For the conversation category, everyone expected to be asked about Olympics. However, it turned out to be something about uniformed groups.
很多学生都不喜欢参与制服团体。以你的看法,说出一些原因。

I made up a lot of stuff that were mostly weird. The teacher was the same as last year and she's nice - she's very encouraging. My strangest statement was
“很多家长不鼓励孩子参加制服团体因为他们必须烫很多衣服。制服团体的学生都有很多制服。。。”

Oh well.
English lesson on that day was sort of fun. We had to list out grammatically-sound sentences describing what are the things that annoy us and those don't. Many put people smoking as annoying as the cigarette fumes are suffocating.
I went to the TA after oral as one of the parts of my tablet had been pushed into another compartment. Thank goodness it took only twenty minutes.
Today's lesson was alright. We were given another piece to practise on. I was really distracted by the flickering lights in the room. 'Twas like a solemn version of disco lights.
I shall now proceed onwards - to win the battle against Flash. How I hate creating web pages.

to tie up the loose ends of the knot;

Ignore my previous post if you can. It stinks of disappointment. Blame it on PMS.><
The National Day parade this year was colourful, vibrant - like usual. The stage seemed too big for the performers though. And they made many interesting remixes for the songs too =D
And there was this float item, whereby there were a few people standing on some platform and they were really great dancers.
I can tie my hair now although there are many loose strands. Oh well, I shall be patient.
I must really try to lose weight. I feel fat. And it's not like what I told Jessie the other day. No, it's not PMS. I don't think so.
Just the thought of PBL makes me weep. Flash hates me. In fact, I guess all my group members got so fed-up with me coz I just can't win the war against those stupid buttons and webpage thingies. I'm not being a very good PBL leader. I submitted my PBL CD to Mr Tan two days before he asked the rest to hand in. I had to run after him as Mr Tan didn't hear me. I could finally see an end to the days whereby I have to bring the CD back home and to school again.
Common tests...maybe the analogy of toilet water isn't right. On the other hand, you don't see the importance of toilet water in your everyday life. But without it, you wouldn't be able to live properly. You dislike it and no way there's gonna be a day you wish to touch it. However, you need it. Just like tests : You dread coming into contact with them but it's necessary for the MOE to see if your intelligence is still the usual and if you've been studying properly. Makes sense, no?
I still remember my toothpaste-mass run theory too.

300 isn't a very nice number aye.

This is my 300th post.
For 9th August, I wish Singapore a Happy Peaceful Birthday.
This year's National day celebration in school wasn't as wild as last year. In fact, I think it was quite...uhm, stagnant and boring. It was strange idea for choir to lead the school in the community singing since we wouldn't be able to hear ourselves when the school is so hyper over shouting out the songs. There were a few girls sitting in front of us when we went up to sing. Apparently, they were irritated and did not like us having such simple actions to accompany the song. Being at the side for most performances, I was always near the audience, but never had I experienced how it feels like to be openly insulted and jeered at. I don't think they meant any harm, but what they said kind of affected those standing in front singing I guess. Things like being asked to do different actions instead of our 'stupid, boring' actions for the songs were thrown at us. Fortunately, there were only a few of them who were doing that. From where I was standing, I could see that our class was dead. I know you guys all to well. =]
I somehow feel that those standing on the other side of the stage were luckier. The people on the other side didn't say any discouraging words - in fact, they followed them. To me, the performance were only meant for those sitting at the back - there were a few nice sporting people at the back smiling and kind of encouraged us. Of course, I DO have a BIGBIGBIGBIGBIG heart. That's why I didn't mind the 'suggestions' of changing our actions for our songs. After all, I don't think they actually meant to hurt anyone's feelings.
The large space below is just me vending out my pent-up feelings. Do note that I didn't intend to offend anyone. I did not add in names and this frustration was partially due to the fact that National day was too near common tests which means that I won't get to enjoy a nice holiday. Hence the grumblings. Nothing was meant by this post. Please bear that in mind.

I was also disappointed when they cancelled some of our songs. But that's another matter I suppose.
Other than that, the celebration was just...normal. It's not like last year, whereby we can run around and feel the school spirit. In fact, there were many rules implemented this year.
Anyway, I should be concentrating on Common tests now. Ta

I think I should trim my hair soon. Just to trim the sides since they keep dropping down.
I felt like a banana today. I asked Cassy to buy three bigger size blouses from Queensway for me since she lives just opposite the place. Yes, the blouses are BIG =D And the new material is thinner than the old version. Unfortunately, it's really yellow - just like how we were in Secondary 1. And to think I called Deborah's blouse "a bright banana yellow" when she bought her new blouse last term. This must be retribution in a mild form. Oh well, I shall soak my blouses in detergent till they are as pale as my other blouses =]

I kind of wish that I didn't need to perform for National Day celebration so that I can take part in my class fun stuff. Just like last year. This is the first time band, angklung and choir need to take part in this celebration. But that's not for me to say, I guess.

My mum got me 'Wink Up' magazine - the August edition!!! =DDD If you have seen the magazine then you should know why I'm so interested in it.
But I have no time to read 'The Host", "Breaking Dawn", stare at the magazine or even watch "L: Change the WorLd" till common tests are over. D: I need patience and these shall be my motivations.

Another thing to cause me to dwell in despair: Chinese oral is just next Friday. What Chinese oral practices have we done in class with the teacher? NONE. That's enough to throw me down the well of doom. I shall now try to converse fluently in my mother tongue. And read Mandarin newspapers.

painfully beautiful.

The fingers on my left hand feel like they are going to split into two each. Romance De Amour is a beautiful yet painful song to play. The barre chords nearly killed my fingers and I couldn't stretch my fingers across five frets and those five frets were all at the higher end, meaning it's tough to press the strings down. Sure, I can stretch my fingers, but I can't produce the note since I can't even press that string down DDD:
We started on the new course book today and learnt another song. Which is easier than Romance De Amour but my fingers were hurting too much for me to play another barre chord.
About the National Day celebrations, I have no idea how I'm going to memorise ten national songs before Friday. At least I'm proving such great patriotism for my sunny little island here. =]
I stayed back on Friday for nothing. We were going to clear the gowns from the CCA room plus the scores to the Communicative Arts room. Unfortunately, there were literature lessons going on in the Comm Arts room for the Sec4s. It's getting annoying with the number of times we planned to stay back to pack when something just crop up and cause us to go home without doing anything.
Analysing Lady Macbeth's personality is killing me. I hope I will be able to pass Literature...I have no wish to take up pure Geog next year. Sure, I can pass that subject, but most of the time, I have no idea what I'm studying at all...it just isn't my cup of tea. Alas, I have to ace my Lit to get what I want.
There's also Physics...Since Primary five, I can say with much confidence that I dislike learning electricity. I vaguely remember day-dreaming my way through lessons on batteries and stuff. How I got good grades in Science was the fact that I memorised everything I read from the textbooks. I don't think I would be able to do that now though.
On a lighter note;
Due to the insanely humid weather, I'm exerting my utmost tolerance in refusing to cut my hair. Yes, I'm trying hard to keep my hair at a longer length. I don't intend to have it as long as what I had last time though as it was difficult to manage. Geraldine also told me that she wanted to keep her hair now ^^ We shall keep up with our efforts.
Why I want to have longer hair? After seeing my past hair accessories, and after walking countless shops selling such pretty hairbands, scrunchies, ties, ribbons, clips - I got tired of wishing to be able to use them instead of buying and giving them away since I can't use them. Silly as it may seem, it makes sense to me =D

BTW, I saw this really cute toddler at NTUC today. She was so pretty, sweet, wonderfully CUTE. We had a staring contest. I lost though since she can really stare. But she was so cute!!! If I had a sibling, I think I may have a serious complex =/
