This is my 300th post.
For 9th August, I wish Singapore a Happy Peaceful Birthday.
This year's National day celebration in school wasn't as wild as last year. In fact, I think it was quite...uhm, stagnant and boring. It was strange idea for choir to lead the school in the community singing since we wouldn't be able to hear ourselves when the school is so hyper over shouting out the songs. There were a few girls sitting in front of us when we went up to sing. Apparently, they were irritated and did not like us having such simple actions to accompany the song. Being at the side for most performances, I was always near the audience, but never had I experienced how it feels like to be openly insulted and jeered at. I don't think they meant any harm, but what they said kind of affected those standing in front singing I guess. Things like being asked to do different actions instead of our 'stupid, boring' actions for the songs were thrown at us. Fortunately, there were only a few of them who were doing that. From where I was standing, I could see that our class was dead. I know you guys all to well. =]
I somehow feel that those standing on the other side of the stage were luckier. The people on the other side didn't say any discouraging words - in fact, they followed them. To me, the performance were only meant for those sitting at the back - there were a few nice sporting people at the back smiling and kind of encouraged us. Of course, I DO have a BIGBIGBIGBIGBIG heart. That's why I didn't mind the 'suggestions' of changing our actions for our songs. After all, I don't think they actually meant to hurt anyone's feelings.
The large space below is just me vending out my pent-up feelings. Do note that I didn't intend to offend anyone. I did not add in names and this frustration was partially due to the fact that National day was too near common tests which means that I won't get to enjoy a nice holiday. Hence the grumblings. Nothing was meant by this post. Please bear that in mind.
I was also disappointed when they cancelled some of our songs. But that's another matter I suppose.
Other than that, the celebration was just...normal. It's not like last year, whereby we can run around and feel the school spirit. In fact, there were many rules implemented this year.
Anyway, I should be concentrating on Common tests now. Ta
